Yes You Can!

Do not speak negative things about yourself.  Do not say you cannot when it has been made clear that you can!

Tough Days

We are all going to have days where we wonder why we even got out of bed.  Everything is thrown at us from early on or could have even started late the night before and continued through the day.  Whatever it is that you face, whatever truth becomes known, whatever emotions may come to the surface, know that what you are facing and the emotions you are feeling are not permanent.  Find the positive in it.  Realize that there is something you are being taught.  Learn from it and make it as pleasant as you can. Something good or better will come from it in the end.  Be sure to remember to control your emotions, words, and actions.  Nothing positive can come from acting negative.  Smile and move forward....know that the hill you are having to climb today could just be so that you can see things from a different view.

Our Responses To Life's Irritations

We all experience obstacles sometimes. Sometimes we allow the obstacles to get in our way of happiness or let them prevent us from moving forward. Our response to an irritation is important. We need to be more like an oyster. The oyster takes an irritation (a grain of sand) and turns it into a pearl. Learning to respond positively when someone or something hurts us can enable us to turn problems, negative feelings, or irritations  into pearls.

Prioritize For Your Family

Don't give away to others what you have not first given away at home is about the best advice I've heard.  We often over schedule ourselves with work, friends, errands, etc and tend to leave out time for those that matter most. Make time for your kids, your husband, and your home before you give your time away to others....

A Child's Comfort From Routine

My Daughter will be 3 next month and during her short little life so far, she has taught me so much.  Here lately our routine  changes from day to day.  I work an extra job along with my full time job and 2 nights a week I attend school.  She is too young to understand my schedule.  All she knows if that some days I pick her up from daycare, some days her GaGa (Grandma) picks her up, some nights I put her to sleep, some nights GaGa puts her to sleep.  She's so used to me putting her to bed at night, that it's tough on her and my Mom when she has to put her to bed.  When I'm home, she misses my Mom and when I'm gone, she misses me.  I love the times that I'm away and I get a phone call and it's my Daughter wanting to talk to me.  Now she's just a little over 2 1/2 so her vocabulary is limited.  She'll tell me she loves me, she misses me, she will blow sugar, and ask me to blow sugar.  I have to make sure that I make a kissing sound loud enough for her to hear it, or she will ask again. Because her vocabulary is so limited, she sometimes needs a translator for others to understand her.  That translator would be me.  Frustration sets in when someone is watching her who can't understand her words.  I'm lucky enough to be the one who's there for her when she wakes up.  We have a routine.  I'll get up, start the coffee maker, she immediately hollers for me that she is stuck and needs help (which I LOVE).  I go get her out of bed, take her straight to my room, turn her cartoons on, give her breakfast, make sure her dog is there, and then I'm allowed to get myself ready and dressed for work.  If I wake up late and have to rush or I forget one of those morning steps, her world turns upside down (And the world of anyone else who may be in the house at the time).  She demands routine.  If her start of the day isn't routine for her, it sets her mood for the whole day.  I know and you know that as she gets older and steps into the adult world, she BETTER quickly get used to CHANGE.  I've learned that change can be a good thing as an adult but as far as kids are concerned, ROUTINE is in HIGH DEMAND.

Every Day There is an Opportunity Placed in Your Hands

Every day we have several opportunities to inspire and be inspired.  We often get so busy with life's responsibilities that we fail to make the most of the opportunities that arise.  You have the ability to make good memories for each and every person you come in contact with.  Remember, every person  we come in contact with is for a reason.  It could simply be someone you smile at as you are walking into a place of business.  It could be the person at the register who is taking your money for the gas you just pumped.  It could be the person who just rear ended your car at a red light.  Or it could be the person who comes home to you every night.  Make good memories, say nice things, inspire, and smile often.  We all experience different emotions each day.  You won't always know what someone is going through.  Your comment, your reaction, or your smile can make a difference for someone and you not even know it.  Inspire, be inspired, smile, and view each opportunity that you come in contact with someone as a blessing, whether that blessing could be for you or someone else.
